About Hearts - Gameplay:

In line with most trick-taking games, Hearts follows a similar set of rules. The player to the left of the dealer leads the first trick, with subsequent players following suit in a clockwise manner. It is mandatory for players to play a card of the same suit as the lead card if they possess one. However, if unable to do so, they retain the freedom to play any card, including penalty hearts or Queen of Spades. The player who plays the highest-value card of the led suit claims the trick along with its associated penalty points. This player then assumes the role of the lead player for the ensuing trick, and this cycle continues until all players have exhausted their hands.
